Balancd started because we believe that fitness has a powerful effect on confidence and independence. We have a simple goal to improve balance, for some it is physical balance (not falling over!) and for others it will be about finding mental balance (city life can get hectic). Our promise is that we will work out the optimal training 讓您尋找屬於自己的平衝。

Balancd Fitness (同衡) offers Northern Shaolin Qigong and Tai Chi training f透過與醫生、物理治療師和太極拳師父合作,. Collaborating with doctors, physiotherapists & Tai Chi Masters, we have created easy to follow programs that focus on: mind/body coordination, strength training and injury prevention. 

初衷

媽媽65歲時退休。她最擔心的是摔倒。這也難怪,婆婆幾年前摔了一跤,跌斷了髖骨,跟着健康迅速轉差,一年半就離世了。我也擔心媽媽的健康,於是為他四處尋找健身計劃,想找個好方法讓他改善平衡。可是,現有的健身訓練大都太激烈,容易受傷,也沒有專注訓練下肢力量的。我找不到適合媽媽的課程。

這不光是媽媽一個人的事,跌倒是全世界長者的擔憂。若找到在短時間內能有效減低跌倒風險的方法,實在很有意義。於是,我不恥下問,向物理治療師、老人科醫生請教。原來最有效放跌跤的方法就是學習中國傳統國術。研究顯示,耍太極六個月,就能令跌跤的風險減少一半。我有幸認識了龍師傅。他是個有心人,在社區推廣國術教學數十年。我們與龍師傅多年來行之有效的課程為基礎,打造了一套結合少林基本功和八段錦的簡易課程。

課程一共八週,媽媽是我的白老鼠:第一次練習是在挪威海濱的祖屋,至今印象猶新。他是我最好的學生,操練很勤奮,因為她不甘心體能逐漸走下坡。期間,我為他做了幾次體能測試,發現他練習數週之後,其柔軟度、力量和平衡力都有所提升,令我喜出望外。原來隨着年齡增長,身體仍有潛力適應和轉型。見到成效,我太開心了,媽媽也有動力繼續操練。

國術和我以前學的健身運動不一樣,除了段練體能,更可培養心靈,達致身心平衡。想不到為媽媽設計的訓練計劃,現在變成了我生活的重要的一部份。

The Balancd programs appeal to a wide range of people.

Some are office workers that look to our practice to step back from their busy lives and correct postural issues. Some are older students looking for an effective way to improve their health whilst socialising with friends. There are also young people looking for a more mindful approach to acheive their athletic goals, exercise their minds and find body-mind balance.

Our students’ level of flexibility, strength and experience vary, but one thing that all our students enjoy is an accessible way to attain balance.
